wire-cut EDM

Wire EDM is a method to cut conductive materials with a thin electrode, a wire. There is no physical contact between the part that is being machined and the wire. Rather, the wire is charged to a voltage very rapidly. The spark that is created by this process causes a small portion of the workpiece to melt.
